You may have already read about the election challenges all across Florida. Since 2002, this country has been plagued by electronic voting machines that can neither be verified nor audited.
Across Florida the election fiasco continues. 18,000 votes were lost on the west coast. Over 7,000 lost in Miami-Dade. In central Florida, every precinct that has been canvassed has shown a reduction in Democratic votes by at least 17% from the official results. In our district , the vote totals do not match any of the polling data taken just before the election (Zogby Poll). Before, we could do nothing. This time, the citizens across Florida can stand up and take our Democracy back.
With great Thanks and Appreciation to dedicated volunteer canvassers who have been WALKING FOR DEMOCRACY all across the state since November, we have gathered data that conclusively shows that the machines do not count accurately. The information we are gathering from voters takes less than two minutes, costs nothing for the participants and yet could well make the difference between keeping or losing our Democracy. It can make sure that what our ancestors fought and died for - to have their vote counted - actually happens.
The Tipping Point for Election Reform is at hand. By the end of March, I will have personally spoken with over 40 Congressional Offices about the data we have gathered. They are impressed with what we have shown them so far and have asked us to keep getting the data. Many have promised to make Election Reform a priority. Congressman Holt and Senator Nelson have submitted bills and Gov Crist is also calling for verifiable elections. We are giving them the data they need to get Election Reform initiatives passed with the amendments that call for a ban on DREs, to have paper ballots and to conduct random audits that will end the problem once and for all.
Thank you for helping us to make sure that our Democracy is
